What Is Included in the Ford Warranty?

Ford Interior

What is included in the Ford warranty? When the Ford factory warranty ends after three years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first) and the powertrain warranty runs out after five years or 60,000 miles, many Peoria-area drivers seek out extended warranty options. The plan you select and how much you’re willing to pay dictates what’s included in the warranty coverage. Explore your options with Mike Murphy Ford so that you can drive confidently around East Peoria.

Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

There are four available Ford Protect Extended Service Plans for when your Ford factory warranty expires. The plans vary in terms of price and coverage for your new or used Ford vehicle. Get the details below:

  • PowertrainCARE: The base Ford Protect Extended Service Plan covers 29 components within the engine, drivetrain (front-wheel or rear-wheel drive), and transmission. PowertrainCARE isn’t comprehensive (it doesn’t cover the radiator, for example), but it does cover the major aspects of your powertrain setup.
  • BaseCARE: Upgrade to BaseCARE to cover 84 parts, which includes the PowertrainCARE’s 29 parts along with components related to your brakes, front suspension, steering, electrical, and air conditioning/heating. Like the plan before, not all parts are covered; the anti-lock brake module is a prime example of a part that isn’t covered.
  • ExtraCARE: Get even more coverage with ExtraCARE, an extended warranty that includes 113 components. Tech and convenience features are added to the aforementioned coverages, which will come in handy should you encounter issues with keyless entry or power window motors. However, more advanced technologies like Ford SYNC® are not covered.
  • PremiumCARE: The most extensive extended warranty plan is PremiumCARE, which covers more than 1,000 components of your Ford vehicle. Anything not covered under the other three plans will almost certainly fall under the PremiumCARE umbrella.

Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan

Vehicle maintenance doesn’t have to equate to stress, even when your Ford factory warranty expires. Under the Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan, routine services like oil changes, filter replacements, multi-point inspections, tire rotations, and more are covered at the Mike Murphy Ford service center. Plus, this plan protects parts affected by normal wear and tear. Don’t let maintenance fall to the wayside simply because your warranty ended. Keep your vehicle running smoothly for years to come, thanks to the Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan!
