- Press the lock button on the key fob to lock the doors.
- Press the remote start button twice.
- Your headlamps will flash twice.
- The horn will sound if for some reason it didn't work.
- After remote starting, press the button once.
- Your headlights will turn off.
- When remote start is activated (and the feature is preset), this will instantly adjust seating, mirror placement, and steering column positions.
How to Use Ford Remote Start: Status Feedback
If your vehicle has a Ford remote access system and it's equipped with status feedback, you will receive real-time information about the status of remote start or stop commands. Here is a guide to their meanings:
Blinking Green: Awaiting status update.
Solid Green: Remote start successful.
Solid Red: Remote stop successful. The vehicle is off.


How to Use Ford Remote Start if Ford Remote Access Won’t Work
Sometimes, there may be instances in which your Ford remote access won't work. If your key fob isn't carrying out your commands, one of the following may be the reason:
Your hood is open
Low vehicle battery
The ignition is already on
Triggered alarm
Disabled remote stop/start system
"Service engine soon" light is illuminated
